Before moving into the world of learning and development, Marcus worked 'at the coal face' and has first-hand experience in supporting children with complex social, emotional and mental health needs and working across education and children’s services, including in mainstream and specialist schools, from early years to secondary.

He knows the day-to-day of working in children these environments, as well as the complexities and challenges faced by practitioners, professionals and leaders and my experience implementing the principles of a whole school approach to mental health and wellbeing and seeing the impact of these approaches on children's lives is the reason why he strives to make this a reality for every child.

Marcus has experience providing effective professional development and support to schools, local authorities and training companies. He has written existing learning and development programmes aimed at senior leaders, has experience leading transformative learning to senior leaders and has a deep understanding of their needs, challenges faced, priorities and goals.

He has successfully supported senior leaders to identify their school priorities, implement strategic change to the culture of emotional assessments and further develop their leadership skills and knowledge.

Marcus' pragmatic and rigorous approach to learning and development, along with my track record of successfully creating change and hands-on experience is invaluable to our learners here at the Mental Health Hub.

He carefully designs our courses with a core focus on providing the best learner experience, with carefully a curated curriculum that draws on my direct experience in education, wellbeing and creating change.

Some feedback from professional development Marcus has devised and delivered:

“Really informative with great insights on how I can use tools to support my individual school. Marcus is very knowledgeable and was able to explain everything very clearly and gave everyone the opportunity to ask any questions they might have.”

“Our course leader Marcus was very knowledgeable and this came through as he was speaking. At all times he checked to make sure that we all understood what was being asked of us and clarified throughout.”

“This course was excellent - very thorough, clear and concise. The trainer was very knowledgeable. Unlike most training, I was able to immediately put this into practice."
